What "GHT" and "NPT" Actually Mean

GHT (Garden Hose Thread) is the standard threading on U.S. garden hoses. NPT (National Pipe Thread) is used on pipes, faucets, and plumbing fittings, with tapered threads for a tighter seal. These two standards don't connect directly—that's why this adapter exists.

How to Confirm You Need This Adapter

Check both ends. Your garden hose end should be 3/4" GHT female (threads inside). The pipe or fitting you're connecting to should be 1/2" NPT female (threads inside). If either side is different, you'll need a different adapter from our NPT to GHT collection.

When to Use This Adapter

Common for connecting a garden hose to a 1/2" pipe, adapting a hose to a water pump inlet, or linking a hose to an irrigation system with 1/2" NPT threads. Also useful for outdoor faucets with 1/2" pipe outlets and custom watering setups.
