What "GHT" and "NPT" Actually Mean

GHT (Garden Hose Thread) is the standard threading on U.S. garden hoses—3/4" diameter with straight threads. NPT (National Pipe Thread) is used on pipes, faucets, and plumbing fittings, with tapered threads for a tighter seal. These two standards don't connect directly—that's why this adapter exists.

How to Confirm You Need This Adapter

Check both ends. Your garden hose end should be 3/4" GHT female (threads inside). The pipe or fitting you're connecting to should be 1" NPT male (threads outside). If either side is different, you'll need a different adapter from our NPT to GHT collection.

When to Use This Adapter
