A hose tee turns one outlet into two without turning the tap off and on every time you switch tasks. This one is solid brass with three 3/4" GHT ends: two male outlets and one female swivel inlet that threads onto your spigot or hose. The swivel inlet is the detail that matters — it lets you rotate the body to line up both outlets after it is tight, instead of hoping the threads stop in the right place.
How the three ends work
- Inlet: 3/4" GHT female swivel — threads onto a spigot, hose end or shut-off valve.
- Outlets: 2 × 3/4" GHT male — accept any standard female hose coupling.
- Sealing: rubber washer seated in the female swivel; precision-machined threads throughout.
Both outlets are live whenever the tap is open. If you want to run one side at a time, put a shut-off valve on each outlet — that is the usual pairing, and it is why the two products get bought together.

Typical setups
- Two hoses off one spigot — one to the vegetable beds, one to the front beds, without rewiring anything each weekend.
- Branching a drip line off a hose while keeping a second outlet free for a hand-held nozzle.
- RV utility bays where one city-water inlet has to feed more than one line; see our RV and specialised fittings.
- Outdoor water line tees for a second tap at the far side of the yard.
Why brass rather than the aluminium version
Big-box tees are usually aluminium or zinc-plated because they are cheap to cast. They are also the parts that crack the first time someone overtightens them, and the plating lifts after a winter outdoors. Brass takes the torque, does not rust, and survives being left on the spigot through a freeze-thaw cycle or three. The tee body here is thicker than a standard adapter wall for exactly that reason.
Fitting it
Hand-thread the female swivel onto the spigot first, then rotate the body to aim the outlets where you want them before you put a wrench on it — the swivel is what makes that possible. Check the rubber washer is seated flat in the female end; a washer that has rolled on its side is the most common cause of a tee that drips at the inlet. Hand-tight plus a quarter turn is enough. If you want individual control of each branch, see our hose splitters with built-in shut-offs, or browse the full connectors and adapters range.
